The major goal of this course is to learn the methods, concepts, and seminal findings of various psychiatric epidemiological studies through reading and discussion of original articles. The topics are divided into two sections, including I) psychiatric measurements: methodological issues; and II) selective topics in psychiatric epidemiology. Although the selected articles of each session have a major theme, they also involve various issues commonly encountered in psychiatric epidemiological studies. At the beginning of each session, I will give an introductory lecture, pointing out important issues involved. Students are expected to read assigned articles in advance and discuss the designated questions during class.

本課程的主要目的是希望經由閱讀、討論原始文獻來學習精神流行病學的研究方法、概念以及目前一些具發展性的新發現，而其中這些主題被分為兩大節：I) 精神測量：方法學議題; 與 II) 特選精神流行病學主題。即使每個分節所選定的文獻都有自己的主軸，但同時也會涉及精神流病研究中常遭遇的其他議題。在每個分節的第一堂課，會由授課教師先進行導論式的課程講授，指出其中重要的議題所在。希望學生在課程中能進一步閱讀指定文獻以及討論指定問題。
